Samsung is one of the most popular brand in Nepal. It launched Galaxy M-series devices in Nepali market. Among them m30s was one of the popular during last year.

After the incredible success of last year’s M30s. Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy M31 in Nepal.

Samsung Galaxy M31 is out for a competitive price tag. Samsung Galaxy M31 competes against Redmi Note 9 Pro in terms of Camera Performance and Battery.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 has similar design like Galaxy M30. At first look, it is quite difficult to differentiate between the two devices.

However, there have been made some changes and upgrades like adding the macro lens. So let’s talk about is design, display, cameras, performance and memory, battery, price and availability in Nepal and many more.

Samsung Galaxy M31 Design & Display:

Galaxy M31 has a plastic frame and a polycarbonate back. The device has rear mounted vertically oval fingerprint sensor.

In comparison to Samsung’s previous M30 model the sensor is a little bit faster.

In the back panel Samsung has added an extra lens over the M30s design which is a macro sensor of 5MP.

Other aspects are similar meaning there is no change in display size and type. It has the same 6.4 inches FHD+ Super AMOLED display with same U shape cutout to place front camera.

The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It gives a peak of 420nits of brightness which is not great for outdoor but it is usable. Since it is an AMOLED display, it is colorful and has great contrast ratio.

Galaxy M31 is also Widevine L1 certified for playing HD content on the web. Adding to an immersive entertainment experience is the Dolby Atmos 360º surround-sound speaker.

This device comes with quad camera setup. They are arranged inside an upside-down ‘L’ shaped arrangement.

The primary sensor has been upgraded to a 64MP from a 48MP sensor. In addition that, there’s an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro lens.

The macro sensor is another upgrade over Samsung’s previous model.

Sadly there is no great homework has been done by Samsung in the field of stabilization. The rear camera can take video up to 4k@30fps.

Similarlly, in the front, there is a single 32MP camera for selfie, which can also shoot 4K and slow-mo videos.

In terms of performance, the Galaxy M31’s got the same old Exynos 9611 chipset as its older variant M30 or M30S had.

Likewise its older budget and mid-range version there is no upgrade in terms of the processor.

Samsung lacks upgrade in this sector as its competitor like Redmi and Realme.

The phone runs on One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 out-of-the-box.

In terms of memory, Samsung has gone with 6 and 8GB of RAM variant on the Galaxy M31. In Nepal, there’s only the 128GB of UFS 2.1 ROM variant available and it can be expanded up to 1TB using a micro SD card.

Samsung Galaxy M31 Battery:

It has one of the best battery in this price segment. It is backed by a huge 6000mAh with a balance weight of 191gm.

The battery gives one day backup in heavy usage like social media browsing, playing games, multimedia and using camera and for a normal user it can last up to 2 days.

It comes with 15W fast charging support which charges the phone fully from zero to 100% in about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
